Her birth date is March 29th, 1985 in Roswell, New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza was her birth name. Gerina Stevenson is a native of Mexico as the daughter of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She is American and has Mexican-American heritage. At a very young age her drive to become active in sports was strong. Gerina began to play golf at the age of 15 years old. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School. In high school she was the winner of in the New Mexico Golf State Tournament. Her volleyball skills were also acknowledged at the national stage. 2003was the year she started studying in the University of Texas. In the final years of her career, she won each tournament where she played. During her college career, she received an award called the Conference USA Player of The Year award and the UTEP Female Sports Athelete Award.
